Imogen Cooper Music Trust concerts: Rachel Breen, piano
7.30pm (doors open 7.00)
A message from Imogen Cooper:
Dear Friends,
Ahead of our Autumn 2024 concerts at the wonderful Razumovsky Academy, I would love to give you an introduction to each pianist one by one, and this month we are starting with the American pianist Rachel Breen, who joined us in Eygalières in April.
Rachel’s concert at the Razumovsky Academy is on Friday 4th October, and tickets can be found here. I am pleased to share her programme with you:
Beethoven Sonata op. 109
Stravinsky Petrushka
—
Schumann Fantasy op. 17
As I have previously mentioned, Rachel is one of the most imaginative young pianists I know. She is a student of the late Lars Vogt at Hannover’s Hochschule für Musik and previously completed degrees at Yale University and the Juilliard School.
She has a formidable competition reputation, and in 2023 alone won top prizes at Piano Iturbi, the Hans von Bülow International Competition and the Bösendorfer International Competition. Her most recent concert seasons have included (among others) appearances at the Sarasota Music Festival, Festival Piano aux Jacobins, The San Francisco International Piano Festival, the Beethovenfest in Bonn, and Festival Liszt en Provence.
In addition to the above, Rachel spends her spare time running, exploring philosophy and visual arts, and (by her own admission) forgetting to answer important emails. We very much hope that you can join us for her concert on the 4th October to meet her in person.
